Mark Winz to lead EPA board for next two years

Two new board members were voted in during the annual business meeting held April 10 in Westminster, Colo., and two board members changed positions.

Mark Winz 2013 150pixelsMark Winz, editor in chief of Cru’s Worldwide Challenge, moved into the position of President of the six-member board after serving the past two years as President-elect. He succeeds Theresa Keener, who completed her term at the convention.

Board advisor Eric Thomsen, appointed in 2014 to fill a vacated seat, was voted in as the President-elect for the next two years until he succeeds Mark as President. Eric is the managing editor of ONE magazine, a denominational magazine for the Free Will Baptists.

Sarah Kropp Brown, the communications director for the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and editor of the NAE’s quarterly publication Evangelicals, was elected to the advisor position vacated by Eric.

Facts & Trends editor Carol Pipes was elected as secretary. The magazine is a publication of LifeWay Christian Resources. She succeeds Carla Foote.

Both Sarah and Carol will serve three-year terms.

Other board members include treasurer Dwight Widaman, publisher of the Kansas City Metro Voice, and advisor Ted Olsen, managing editor of Christianity Today Online and co-editor of The Behemoth. Both Dwight and Ted have two years remaining in their terms.
