Magazine Training International is inviting EPA members to its world conference on publishing in crisis to be held in Eastern Europe this October. The Crisis Publishing Initiative will be held Oct. 15 to 18, 2017, in Sopron, Hungary.
Join Christian journalists, editors, publishers, and bloggers from around the world to discuss how best to meet the challenges of a world increasingly impacted by crises of all kinds, from terrorism to war to natural disasters. The Crisis Publishing Initiative will equip Christians in publishing with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed in order to research, report, and publish responsibly in crisis situations.
“This Initiative is coming at a critical time in history,” said MTI President Sharon Mumper. “The world is embroiled in turmoil, and it seems every nation is impacted by multiple crises. Christian magazines have a responsibility to report on complex crises accurately and with sensitivity, giving their readers the information they need to respond as Christians.”
Speakers include Julia Bicknell, executive editor and director of World Watch Monitor; Elizabeth Kendal, international religious liberty analyst and advocate; Jeremy Weber, senior editor for Christianity Today; Tom Albinson, president of the International Association for Refugees; Laura Leonard, communications specialist for the Humanitarian Disaster Institute; and Mindy Belz, senior editor of WORLD Magazine.
