Honorary Members Named

Two long-time members retired recently, and the EPA board voted to grant each of them a lifetime honorary membership, recognizing their extraordinary service to their publications and for their faithful participation with EPA.

Connie Faber (above left) was on staff with Christian Leader since 1994, serving as editor since 2004. The magazine served the US Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. She regularly attended conventions over the past 25 years.

“Our magazine has benefitted in great ways from our participation with EPA,” Connie said when interviewed for a feature in Liaison several years ago.

Ruth Burgner (above right) was active in EPA over five decades. She served as executive editor of UMC’s Good News magazine and, in recent years, editor of Unfinished with TMS Global. Ruth attended her first convention in 1984 and countless more in the years that followed. She served on the EPA board from 1989 to 1991.

Both editors won numerous EPA awards for their publications over the years.
