2025 Compensation Survey for EPA Members

It's time for EPA's Triennial Compensation Survey

Have you ever wondered how your publication’s staff wages rank among your peers in EPA? How do the wages of EPA members stack up against the entire industry? What does the average editor in EPA get paid? How about wages for graphic designers?

What about benefits? Do EPA members receive health insurance, paid vacation, employer-matched retirement accounts?

The EPA Board has commissioned 5by5 Agency, an independent market research firm, to conduct an anonymous and completely confidential survey of EPA members regarding their salary and benefits. Comprised of only ten questions, the survey should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Follow-up to 2022 survey
This survey is a follow-up to the 2022 salary and compensation survey. Results will be compared to see how things have changed over three years.

  • View the results of the 2019 survey here.

Participation by as many staff members as possible is crucial as the larger the number of respondents, the more accurate the results. Please encourage every employee on your publication’s payroll to participate, including part-time employees. Contract labor and freelancers are not eligible for the survey.

The survey will close on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Enter a drawing for prizes
To encourage participation, at the end of the survey respondents will have the option to enter a drawing for one of five $25 e-gift cards. The drawing will be conducted randomly and confidentially by 5by5.
